Open Source Android Apps for Developers: Nethack-android (NetHack for Android)
Cute Android: Open Source Android Apps for Developers: Nethack-android (NetHack for Android)
Description
Nethack-android is a port of the classic rogue-like game NetHack to the Android O/S for mobile devices. It runs as native code with an Android Java front-end. The initial version is based on version 3.4.3 of NetHack and supports a simple TTY user interface.
NetHack is a single-player roguelike video game originally released in 1987. It is a descendant of an earlier game called Hack (1985), which is a descendant of Rogue (1980). Salon describes it as “one of the finest gaming experiences the computing world has to offer.” The “net” element references that its development has been coordinated through USENET, even before the World Wide Web existed. The “hack” element refers to the game it was based on, Hack. The player takes the part of a dungeon-delving character in search of the Amulet of Yendor.

Open Source Android Apps for Developers: Asqare (Android squares games)
Cute Android: Open Source Android Apps for Developers: Asqare (Android squares games)
Description
Asqare is an open source squares game for Android: the screen is covered with colored sprites (squares or circles). When you align 3 or more in a row, all adjacents sprites of the shape & color vanish. You can only swap adjacent sprites vertically or horizontally. You can swap sprites even if it won’t result in a 3-or-more alignment, but that will cost you 10% of your current score. The game offers two variations on the gameplay and manages a list of current games, that you can pause and recall at any time.
